My del.icio.us Tag Cloud

At the bottom of the front page, you can now see a bunch of "tags", by which I've described my posts.

This is part of a transition between Movable Type's more limited category system and the richer del.icio.us bookmarking system. I will soon build some tools and mark the remaining 2/3 (amost 2000 posts!) of my content. I have lots of other cool ideas, like adding inline "find articles like this one" functionality.

The one thing I'm leery of is trusting del.icio.us's availability; fortunately, they expose a good API for exporting, and I plan to work off of a local copy of the data. I'm also thinking that this presents a good opportunity to mess around with a new language or tool; perhaps Zope 3 (useful for work; it's come a long way), another one of the Python frameworks or Rails.

If you're curious about how this works, you only need to use some generated JavaScript and a del.icio.us account.

Feedback is welcome.
