Oh Crepe!

Well I was wrong about that trend: we're back down to one crepe in my neighborhood.

Comments: Oh Crepe!

Which one closed?

I've actually been hoping it was a trend. I think that outside DC crepes are catching on everywhere, and we're just a bit slow.

Or, at least, I hope...

Mmmmm, crepe citron.

The food court one closed. First the Malaysian place and then this one; I guess food court demand is still pretty backward-looking. ;)

The cone pizza reminds me of "pizza in a cup" from the Steve Martin movie "The Jerk."

Ha! Do I get to say "I told you so, Joe"?

I'm more disappointed by Wolfgang Puck Express closing. That was by far the best casual dining place we had in the 'hood, and it's being replaced with a frickin' tapas place? They're good, and all, but don't we already have like 5 of them in a 3 mile radius?

You may have won the battle, but not the war!

I thought the only tapas place nearby was Jaleo at Crystal City (and you can sorta count Lebanese Taverna).

Personally, I thought Wolfgang Puck was disappointing; the sandwiches and chicken were both very dry.

Tapas - at a minimum, there's also Oyamel in Crystal City and La Tasca in Clarendon. I think there are others I'm forgetting. Plus, Gallery Place isn't *that* much farther, and there are like 4 such restaurants there.

Wolfgang Puck had great quesadillas, pizzas, and soups... I'm not sure I ever tried the sandwiches.

Oh, crap, I loved that place in the mall. Back to crappy pizza I guess.

The Malaysian place didn't last long either (in fact, they scaled back to only chicken and cheaper spices almost immediately), and got replaced by Sala Thai ... which is pretty suitable, because their Thai food is food-court quality.
