If you're a web geek, and hype gets on your nerves, you'll enjoy this random company/product generator.

I guess if, last time around, venture capitalists bought into the idea of 50-lb. bags of kitty litter with free shipping (Pets.com) or a pint-of-ice-cream delivery service (Kozmo.com), it might work.

Your company name: Riolirati Your company product: tag-based classifieds via instant messaging

Full disclosure: I once (circa early 2000) bought a stock (Interleaf: LEAF) simply because the company profile had the word "XML" in it. I sold it about a month later at like a 30% gain.

Eh, I bought this little stock from a "kid friendly entertainment" company called 4kids. This was like 1996, and I think I paid 2 bucks a share for 500 shares.

Yes, *that* 4kids entertainment (KDE). One of the top stocks during that period & the company that held the rights to Pokemon. I sold ~2000 shares at something close to 75 a share and promptly lost it all in the crash.

Anyway, the product generator is pretty cool...I just have a disdain for VC's these days.
