1. You only get to watch one movie for the rest of your life. Which one do you pick?
Boogie Nights.
2. You get to completely destroy and remove one movie from existence. Which one do you pick?
The Matrix. Especially being immersed in tech. Take both pills and O.D., you pretentious fucks.
3. Which movie that doesn't get nearly enough play would you recommend to everybody?
Boogie Nights. Too many people write it off as "about porno", but that's like saying Romeo and Juliet is "about teenagers".
4. Which as-yet-unreleased movie this year would you kill someone to see early?
None. Shit, I wait for most stuff to be on DVD.
5. Which movie is the funniest movie you've ever seen?
Clerks. I could watch it on "mute" and crack up.
6. Which movie has made you cry the hardest?
ET (hey, I was little). It would have been Schindler's List, if I didn't watch it on a school field trip and, thus, have to hold it in.
7. What's the best ending sequence to a movie that you've ever seen?
8. What's the best opening sequence to a movie that you've ever seen?
Boogie Nights. Damn, that's a long tracking shot.
9. Who's your favorite movie character, and why?
Jesco White, in Dancing Outlaw, as himself.
10. Which movie character do you think has had the best entrance ever in a movie?
The Colonel, in Boogie Nights. (Sense a theme here?)
11. Which movie character do you think has had the best exit ever in a movie?
Verbal Kent (Kevin Spacey) in The Usual Suspects.
12. Which supposedly good movie do you loathe?
The Matrix. So fucking pretentious.
13. Which supposedly crappy movie do you love?
"Plan 9 from Outer Space" or "Manos: Hands of Fate", with the MST3K commentary.
14. You get to kill one actor/actress and get away with it. Which one do you get rid of?
Keanu Reeves.
15. Which supposedly bad actor do you actually like?
Burt Reynolds, in Boogie Nights. I don't like him in anything else; he is a bad actor.
16. Which supposedly good actor do you wish would just go away?
Robert De Niro. Retire man, for real.
update The torch has been passed to Jerry and Mike.

I love these movies. Unless you're an idiot, you will too:
What did you find so pretentious about The Matrix? I just never took it so seriously.

I liked The Matrix -- are you sure that the craptacular sequels haven't tainted your view? It was a slick, stylish live-action anime, and not something that we'd ever really seen before. Sure, the story's preposterous, and Keanu Reeves is a bad actor -- but it's COOL, and in this case, the style outweighs the movie's "substance."
