"One of the most critical things, if you want to be accountable to partners and customers, is they've got to trust you. What we've gone through in the last several years has caused some people to question Can we trust Microsoft?'" [Microsoft CEO Steve] Ballmer said. He later answered that question by saying "We will be accountable to our partners and customers to continue to earn their trust." (TheStreet.com)

Comments: Can We Trust Microsoft?

Boing Boing's report was incorrect and has now been corrected. Microsoft has not purchased Claria and any change to Microsoft's Antispyware product was not connected to the rumor we are buying Claria (the change was made back in March). We'll have more to say soon.
