Follow up: The Inquirer reports that the Berkeley professor who threatened an unidentified student who stole his laptop in a lecture last week was full of shit, and the laptop was never returned.

Oops, I guess your consultant gigs can't trust you with protecting their information and your students and peers can't trust you period.

update Boing boing has advice on what he should have done to prevent this fiasco.

That guy was clearly bluffing in the video. He was also obviously ridiculously full of himself.

I actually found the first 48 minutes on chemistry to be pretty interesting. The part about viagra and caffeine being the same chemical was fairly enlightening.

Um, this was a staged production as part of a prank film festival the department runs every year.

Ask any PhD student in the Berkeley MCB department about "follies"
