Etan Thomas, Not-Quite Renaissance Man

Backup forward-center Etan Thomas busts his ass on defense and the glass for the Wizards and is probably their most underrated player.

He spent last summer as "a camp counselor at a Seeds of Peace international camp in Maine for children from nations at war".

And he's got a book of poetry coming out next month. "More Than an Athlete" isn't available on Amazon yet, but Wizznutzz has an excerpt from one poem, including this bit:

update It looks like this was just a parody by WizzNutzz.

My mons pubis is braided like Anubis.

OK, so you're black (get it? nappy African pubic hair). But, um, isn't there a less nonsensical way of saying it? Only women have a mons pubis (it's the area above the vulva) and Anubis was an Egyptian God represented as jackal-man with short, straight hair.

"My mons pubis is braided like Anubis."

Perhaps he's a FTM transgendered person?
