My Favorite and Least Favorite New Firefox Extensions

I just discovered GooglePreview which gives you a screenshot-preview of all your search results on Google (and, despite the name, Yahoo too).

update

BetterSearch is a similar plugin with obnoxious licensing (in tone and implications), so even though it looks like it has a superior featureset, I cannot recommend it:

Please Note: you are not allowed to use or spread this extension if you rip out or replace my Amazon associate code. Amazon links are only tagged with my referral id on pages that have been processed by BetterSearch before, i.e. pages that have thumbnails added.

If you can't live with the affiliate code in these few changed Amazon links, then please uninstall this extension right fucking now. (emphasis his)

I mean, that's your perogative and all, bro ... but that shit is real lame. Thousands of other people contribute a lot more to the Firefox world without making demands on how people use their code (and to line his own pockets, no less). I would have thought that having his Amazon associate ID as the default, plus a PayPal button, would have been enough.

Comments: My Favorite and Least Favorite New Firefox Extensions

Yeah, Google Preview rocks - it makes homing in on a search result that much quicker, but the extension I use the most is still the Googlebar.

I made this comment for your benefit. If you can't live with the fact that this comment is so much better than your silly comments, then please remove it right fucking now.

What's the fuss about? He made something and wants to make some money off of it. I thought that you were in favor of an open market... Capitalism and such.

Where do you draw the line on what is ok to profit from and what isn't?

O'dell:

It's the context that I take exception with -- the difference between opening your own restaraunt (Macromedia) and attending a "pot luck" dinner but demanding that others pay for your salad (offering a Firefox plugin that can't be freely modified).

Sorry, I forgot your comments system ripped off the links.

The urls to the firefox and Opera plugins are respectively:

Sorry for the double post.

No more comments! Either someone has violated Godwin's Law, I'm tired of the discussion or, most likely, the ten-week window has closed. You can, however, contact me through email.
