Unveiling the Mac

It's hard to imagine what things were like for computer geeks in 1984, in a world of DOS and UNIX, but the ecstatic cheering during Steve Jobs' Macintosh presentation gives some indication.
He reminds me of Crispin Glover's version of George McFly, in "Back to the Future".
Oddly it's not hard for me to imagine, all I have to do is remember...

I first used one in a school in Ohio in 1984 and as recently as 1993 in a school in Hawaii.

Posted by: Joe Grossberg on January 28, 2005 7:13 AM | permalinkJust looked at some old Macs... I was wrong about the Apple II GS (the school in Hawaii did have a couple). The model I was thinking of is an older Apple II that is monochrome.
