R.I.P., HFS

DC alt-rock radio stalwart and concert sponsor, WHFS, has been turned into Latin-format El Zol.
Now, I understand that the Latin population in the DC area is a rapidly increasing demographic, but couldn't they have found a less popular station to replace?

update The Post has more on the sudden switch. Fuck you, Infinity. If you ditch Ron and Fez and Howard Stern ... man I will be pissed.
update Apparently it wasn't nearly as popular as it was well-known, the worst-rated of Infinity's five DC-area stations.
Well if you read most of the commentary online, HFS *is* the "least popular" station. I wouldn't have thought so, but our viewpoint is a skewed one when it comes to radio preferences of the entire metropolitan area.
If you read the WashPost discussion, lots of mention has been made of WRNR possibly strengthening its signal and taking WHFS's place. If that happens, I would say this whole switch was a good thing, because RNR is *much* better than HFS anyway, but you can't hear it now in VA or DC.

It's just a coincidence that people are eager to push their subscription satellite radio services.
