Cheesecake, The Definitive Guide
update It's a stock photo also used by Vagisil. Good eye, Sean.
What, exactly, does a hot blonde chick in a tank top and pigtails have to do with Java Design Patterns?
Man, that is so lowbrow of O'Reilly.
It's almost as if the cover were designed by someone who really hates the authors. The goofy images on the side ("Starbuzz Coffee"? geez) just make it even worse.

I guess it's supposed to work the same way my Axe body spray (doesn't) work...

Posted by: Kearns on October 26, 2004 6:10 PM | permalinkI like it. Definitely more relevant than a line drawing of an arbitrary animal. I wouldn't say "hot blonde chick" though, more "'00s geek-girl." The hat tip to 1950s style social behaviour guides is funny and clearly positions the book for an audience of design pattern newbies.
Cheese is the new cool. ;)

I think they also had ones with guys.

I just hope people start calling this "the trollop book."
Posted by: PJ Doland on October 27, 2004 7:50 AM | permalinkWell the line drawings of animals is sort of a precedented (albeit arbitrary) theme.
I have come across some cuties in programming, but let's be honest -- most techies look a lot more like the Wrox covers: http://images.amazon.com/images/P/0764572830.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg
