The Guardian (UK) reports: "Critics said the web would destroy small booksellers, but the internet has actually given them a new lease of life".

FWIW, almost all my book purchases are used books, purchased from third parties through Amazon. Before the web, I bought almost everything at chain bookstores like Barnes & Noble and Waldenbooks.

Comments: How Amazon Helped Small Bookstores

Do you go out of your way to get third party books are do you only read books that are out of print?

Actually, it's neither. When I get used books, the discounts can be astonishing -- a $30 book for $5 plus shipping (and tax free) is not uncommon.
