Meanwhile, in North Ossetia, the American media can't bring themselves to use the "T" word about Muslim terrorists holding a school full of children hostage:

ABCNEWS.com calls them "secessionist Chechen rebels."

CBS News calls them "militants" and "hostage takers."

CNN.com calls them a "group" of "attackers."

MSNBC calls them "hostage-takers" and "Chechen rebels."

USATODAY.com calls them "armed militants."

[R]euters.com calls them an "armed gang," and says "It remained unclear who the attackers were."

Comments: Party in Palestine

For as long as I can remember, the US has criticized Russia over human rights abuse in Chechnya.

Admitting that the 'rebels' are terrorists would imply that some in this country (from the media to the White House)were terrorist sympathizers.

What is the source for the 'party' photos?

The pictures from Palestine are terrifying, but I'm sure that completing the fence and grabing more land for settlements will calm the situation down. Is there any hope left for peace in Israel?

Here in Australia there is no doubt the Chechen rebels are terrorists. A government minister has tried to tell us that it could happen in Australia if we vote the wrong way at the next election.

The "party" pics are from Reuters: http://backspin.typepad.com/backspin/2004/09/terror_in_beers.html , though not originally in collage format. I'll link them up.
