The Wave Magazine has their list and I'm proud to say I'm familiar with every one.

How'd they leave off the Google-bombing of "weapons of mass destruction", though? Clearly the entertainment magazine from San Francisco is a right-wing shill!

Comments: Best Internet Fads

That article doesn't go back more than a few years.

There were some cool things back in the mid 90s, like the rotting spam cam and the guy who lit a barbecue grill with liquid oxygen.

My favorite thing is an "I'm feeling lucky" Google search for "miserable failure."

Wow, that was literally an hour's worth of entertainment. Each link had other funny videos inane content. This is what the internet was made for.

I only have a 70% familiarity rating... Perhaps I'm working too hard.

O'dell:

The early 90's stuff was not nearly as funny. Remember when JennyCam was so risque'?

"Miserable failure" (and "French military victories") is a ripoff of that first politically motivated Google-bombing.

Most of these modern fads are just plain stupid, IMO. Why the fuck do you want to watch some overweight kid pretending to be in Star Wars? I'm surprised that "Gonads and Strife" didn't make it on that list.

Also, I never thought JennyCam was risque, considering other material that has been around forever.
