I really can't help but wonder why Richard Nixon made a permanent record, released this week, of such outlandish shit-talking:
"You know what happened to the Greeks? Homosexuality destroyed them. Sure, Aristotle was a homo, we all know that, so was Socrates. [...] Do you know what happened to the Romans? The last six Roman emperors were fags. [...] You know what happened to the popes? It's all right that popes were laying the nuns. That's been going on for years—centuries." – Nixon in May 1971
Why record that? Maybe it was a manifestation of some compulsive disorder.

Considering that a lot of people around the world want to try Kissinger for crimes against humanity, it's pretty frightening to read that Nixon complained about him being "so goddamned concerned about the civilians".
