Buying British Books

FYI, you can purchase stuff at Amazon's UK site seamlessly, if you have a "regular" Amazon account.

I wanted a copy of Neill Lochery's "Why Blame Israel? The Facts Behind the Headlines", but it's only been printed in the UK and Australia (so far). I contacted Icon Books' US distributor and they hadn't heard of it.

So, I gave it a shot. Shipping is a bit expensive (cheapest one is ~$12 for a week). Other than that, the only difference is that they say "dispatch to" instead of "ship to", and "Shipping & Handling" becomes "Postage & Packing".

You can use your same login and password, and it will have your credit card and shipping information. Your wishlist, however, isn't carried over.

Comments: Buying British Books

I regularly do this, and have had great luck. I buy CDs this way too when I can't get them in the US. I used Airmail for a CD recently and it only took 6 days. I thought that was totally reasonable.

Yeah, I don't know if they still do it, but "import" versions of CDs (e.g. the versions released in Japan) often have extra tracks.

You can, sometimes, buy those on Amazon for extra $.

No more comments! Either someone has violated Godwin's Law, I'm tired of the discussion or, most likely, the ten-week window has closed. You can, however, contact me through email.
