When chatting with my friend Daffy, I couldn't find any good photos of the parks on the Alexandria, VA side of the Potomac River.

So here's one, taken a few blocks south of my office:

Alexandria waterfront park

The train tracks are used to carry coal from nearby docks to the power plant up the street.

Comments: Alexandria Waterfront

Hello Joe,

That picture of Alexandria waterfront is also a few blocks south of my Wife's office (if it is the park I am thinking of). She works in the Canal Center Plaza buildings. We live right down in old town so we frequent the Alexandria waterfront often. Here is an alternate view of the same park the morning after Hurricane Isabel blew through, almost the same angle as your pic. http://www.santantonio.net/album/photo.aspx?photoid=1912

Here is one from the other angle.

One other park is on the other side of King St., around 500-600 South Lee St. Here is a view in wintertime http://www.santantonio.net/album/photo.aspx?photoid=442

I hope Daffy is now happy with the park situation in Alexandria.
