What Racists Really Think

One of the more overlooked aspects of blogging is the opportunity it affords us to see different perspectives.
Like bigots who expound on their vile beliefs instead of keeping them private.
Please link to that essay the next time you read someone complaining that racism is no longer a problem, or that it's only an issue because Jesse Jackson et al. won't shut up about it.

'xcuse me. No. Don't. This man is an ....... . But he states that himself; he's blogging from the piggie-pond [cv. left gutter]. Really a good argument, I agree.

Also, I bet you have some racist thoughts about your neighbors from time to time. At least he isn't afraid to admit it instead of standing behind a "holier than thou" attitude.
Deep down in his ramblings, there is a point to be found, if you add a little more info. Black people have to be extra good, because the news loves to play it up when they do something wrong.
IMO, Jesse Jackson is a prick who goes after stupid cases that get a lot of press, when there are plenty of wronged black people who go undefended. And of course, the press loves to cover when he does that.

Posted by: Bob Ippolito on March 2, 2004 6:09 PM | permalinkThat's another problem. We are taught to expect rural people to be the only racists. The wealthy banker living in Manhattan could just as easily be racist, but we told that he isn't the right person for that.

Posted by: Bob Ippolito on March 2, 2004 7:10 PM | permalinkMy personal experience with relatives in Kentucky (who have been there for generations) is that they cringe at the word "nigger." And they were in a rural area.
I guess that I haven't been exposed to enough people there.
