Instead of messing with BSD for the code and OPL for the text, this site is now under a Creative Commons License (much simpler):

Creative Commons License

This work is licensed under a Creative Commons License.

Comments: Relicensed Content

There is a more complex version, but that's definitely the first easily understood license that I've seen.

Yeah, there are several "flavors" of CC licenses.

BSD you can do what you will... This CC licenses still says what you have to do. If sockets were CC license and not BSD we would be using something else for Unix/linux/microsoft etc. BSD is still going..

I am a big fan of BSD, and it's the license that my code was previously under.

However, it seems poorly applicable to non-software, such as essays, photos or designs.

No more comments! Either someone has violated Godwin's Law, I'm tired of the discussion or, most likely, the ten-week window has closed. You can, however, contact me through email.
