If I'm Insane about Blogging, at Least I Have Company

"I found myself ripping the pages out of a print magazine so that I could refer to them later and quote from them," says Anil Dash.

I've done the same thing.

Anyone else?

Oddly enough, I find that the "I'm blogging this!" reflex is usually confined to writing (online or print), and not real life.

Last week, I had sushi for lunch and the gentleman at the next table had no arms. He ate by holding the utensils with his toes. Much to my disappointment, he didn't use chopsticks. But it was still pretty damn fascinating. Thankfully I sat behind him, so I could stare.

But I didn't bother to blog it until now and I'm not sure why. That's much more interesting than the fact I installed software without getting an ulcer.

Who still reads anything on paper?

I don't think I've ever kept any "thing" in order to blog about it later. I have, however, wrote an IE plug in that gives me 1 click access to quoting pages directly into my web-based blog admin...

I read books and some quality magazines that aren't online. I mostly read the mags when I work out or go out to eat.

Newspapers, just the Post's features section. I like the aesthetics of doing a crossword on newsprint.

Some blog, some write stuff in their paper journals. Other call people and tell them about stuff. The bottom line, I think, is our need for communication, the impulse to process specific information or "input" that we receive through any of our sensual organs.

I do mark or rip off pages to blog about info that is on them, but this goes for basically all the information I want to keep in mind and communicate to people.

No more comments! Either someone has violated Godwin's Law, I'm tired of the discussion or, most likely, the ten-week window has closed. You can, however, contact me through email.
