If you're using the UNIX Yahoo Messenger client or a non-standard one such as GAIM, you probably haven't been able to view your buddies recently. The solution, via the Yahoo! Messenger for UNIX group: make sure you're hitting the server at scs.msg.yahoo.com instead of scs.yahoo.com (the old one).
