Just when you think Peta can't go any further off the deep end, they have a new pamphlet for children attending The Nutcracker (whose parents wear fur coats), entitled "Your Mommy Kills Animals!", which can be downloaded as a PDF.

Excerpt:
How would you feel if someone took away your kitty or puppy, stomped on their head and ripped their skin off their bodies? ... There are terrible people who cause our furry friends to die that way every day. And guess what? One of those terrible people is your mommy. Your mommy kills animals ... so your greedy mommy can have that fur coat to show off ... Keep your doggie or kitty friends away from mommy — she's an animal killer!

peta's friends over at GoVeg want to make sure that your kids find out all about sex the correct way, from Santa: http://www.goveg.com/feat/Santa/santa.html

I like soy milk. Maybe Santa does too. :)

Peta needs tactics like these people:

http://www.themeatrix.com/

The Meatrix people aren't anti-meat, but they are against the insane factory farms we have today. The animation could easily be shifted to anti-meat and have far more appeal to people than anything Peta does. Instead Peta opts for celebrity endorsement and campaigns that people find obscene, such as this and the recent holocaust analogy.

It's unfortunate that animal rights groups like Peta get all of the attention, just like ALF and ELF (mink releasers and SUV torchers). There are groups doing better things who get zero mention while the extremes are made to fully represent all.

Yeah, I'm not saying it's a bad cause, per se.

The problem is (obviously) how they're delivering their message.

I bet the children have an awesome lotta fun all during the ballet. Action should definitley be taken, but it still is the tone that makes a message a good one - why can't those kind of groups just...hire a competent journalist. Or writer. Or maketing dude. Someone who knows.

No more comments! Either someone has violated Godwin's Law, I'm tired of the discussion or, most likely, the ten-week window has closed. You can, however, contact me through email.
