Flu Shots in NoVa

If you're a procrastinator like me, and not terribly afraid of needles, it's not too late to get your flu shots.

Did you see the news about the strain going around not matching this year's vaccine? I think they said that it might still help, though. It would certainly help against the actual strain for which it was made :)

Oh yes, plenty of flu strains resist vaccines. However, I'd rather be mostly covered, then just have my naked immune system exposed to whatever germs they come into contact with.

One thing to think about though -- the demand has been so high that most clinics are starting to run out of the vaccine. If you're not at risk, I'd say forego getting the vaccine this year so that a child or a senior citizen doesn't miss out. They're at the most risk. 11 kids have died already this year from the flu.
My altruistic message of the day.

What a great way to rationalize laziness!

My immune system's in good shape, but I love picking my nose, so that puts me at high risk.

I wonder if I can catch the flu from the steam room at my gym.

I've been doing what Steve is saying to justify not taking the strange shot from the strange people in the strange grocery store.

No more comments! Either someone has violated Godwin's Law, I'm tired of the discussion or, most likely, the ten-week window has closed. You can, however, contact me through email.
