I've cleaned up my "link exchange" list, because some of the sites (Stacy, Chee Aun) hadn't been updated in a long time. I really enjoyed n3rd.net, but he's never gotten around to rebuilding it after losing his data Jon moved his site to TypePad and doesn't have a sidebar with links.

Actually linking to my website is a prerequisite. The extent to which you meet any of the following criteria increases the odds you'll stay in that box:

• You update often.
• Your site has a lot of content.
• Your site is well-designed.
• I know you in "real life".
• The link to me is somewhere visible.

Of course, I also have the blogs I read daily and weekly (descriptions which overlap some of my "link exchange"), but I want to encourage people linking to me, so they get top billing.
