This is a canal behind my apartment that drains away rainwater. I think it's interesting how robust an ecosystem has developed, considering the wild swings in water level (from none to ten feet — right up to the concrete edges). Nature is pretty damn resilient. One year, they'll have to go clear-cutting in there, otherwise it'll be a dam.
