The Internet: is It Shit?

My opinion: it's true, if overstated. The internet is shit. At least compared to its potential.

Yes, it has some great applications: eBay, web-based email, IMDB. And there are ones that are flawed but better than the older alternatives: Travelocity, E*Trade, MapQuest.

But compare the internet of 1993 and the internet of 1998. Now compare 1988 to today. Where is the innovation? Cool stuff is still coming out, but it's slowed down more than we'd like to admit.

you sound like bill walton. what do you expect? if there's shit you want that's not out there, why not design it yourself? necessity is the mother of invention, no?
