1. What were your favorite childhood stories?
Where the Wild Things Are, though I don't remember how it ended and only vaguely remember the premise. Monsters are cool. Especially when a little boy in his pajamas gets to be their king.
2. What books from your childhood would you like to share with [your] children?
The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Science, religion or both, I think there is something profound about the metamorphosis into a butterly.
3. Have you re-read any of those childhood stories and been surprised by anything?
Yes. Dr. Seuss was awfully trippy.
4. How old were you when you first learned to read?
Around two, from what I gather.
5. Do you remember the first 'grown-up' book you read? How old were you?
I'm not sure what's meant by a "grown-up" book. I remember reading The Swiss Family Robinson when I was really young. It's clearly geared toward a young audience, but it's a novel.
