Just got back from a three-day trip to Dallas for a wedding. More on that later.

Might as well return with an entertaining link — this is the European Community's regulations on cucumbers, including size and shape:
Moreover, 'Extra' Class and Class I cucumbers grown under protection weighing 500 g or more must be not less than 30 cm long, [and] between 250 and 500 g must be not less than 25 cm long.
We must protect the consumer from fat cucumbers — let's outlaw them and pass along the cost of enforcing this rule!

It's from 1988, so I don't know if it's still binding. But from what I gather, the quantity of bureaucracy has only gotten worse since the formation of the European Union.

I think Dr. Ruth would be against such an injustice as uniformly sized cucumbers.
