My HBO Tipping Point

I might get HBO just so I can see this:
Mewes to Be Subject of HBO Documentary

NEW YORK - Actor Jason Mewes (news) will be the subject of an HBO documentary about his heroin addiction. The New York Post says Mewes' personal manager is producing the show called "Rock Bottom." He says he convinced Mewes to do the program so that people could have a better understanding of his life and drug addiction.

"Rock Bottom" will reportedly air on HBO this summer. This week Mewes turned himself in and plead guilty to six counts of violating his probation for a 1999 heroin conviction. Meantime, Mewes' longtime buddy, director Kevin Smith (news) is on the fence about the documentary. He says "If the idea of a camera following him around impedes his drug use, that's great. But at the same time it does seem kind of exploitative." Smith says he hasn't spoken to Mewes in months. Mewes usually plays a pot-smoking slacker in Smith's movies, like "Clerks" and "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back."

Kind of exploitative? It's not like Smith made a pretty penny off of Mewes' pothead demeanor. I guess marijuana use is OK to ridicule and heroin humor is tasteless. Also, if being taped influences his behavior ("If the idea of a camera following him around impedes his drug use"), doesn't that defeat the purpose of the documentary?

Comments: My HBO Tipping Point

Heroin use is very serious, for one to mock or ridicule someone who is battling that terrible ordeal is a rather perverted and strained individual, such as josephgrossberg.
Marijuana use is comical, it can be very humorous,
but it does not kill!
If Mewes has these demons, then everyone{critic's} included should back the fuck off and let this almost comical genius battle his addiction with dignity and poise.
I really wish Mewes the best of luck on his soon to be very ardous journey into heroin hell.

What the fuck are you talking about? How did "mock or ridicule" him?

No more comments! Either someone has violated Godwin's Law, I'm tired of the discussion or, most likely, the ten-week window has closed. You can, however, contact me through email.
