Tried to install OpenOffice at work yesterday, following their directions. Didn't work. Or, rather, it installed, but when I tried to launch the program, I got a totally uninformative error message and it exited immediately. Maybe it's because I'm on RedHat 8.0? Maybe there are some weird configurations on my machine?

Free lunch today, part of a walking tour for our newest programmer. It's unreal how many developers we've gone through since I joined this company two years ago. Interestingly enough, we've only had a turnover of one in my division. Overall, it's been 21 departures out of like 30 employees.
